Big Sis...You Are The Best! {Birmingham, AL Children's Photographer}

It was such a pleasure to get to visit this family's new home over Thanksgiving and photograph these sweet girls in their own environment.  I loved being able to use the details of their home as a backdrop for classic portraits that they will enjoy viewing on their walls for many years to come. With so many amazing sibling and individual images, we were able to design several custom framed wall collections to decorate their new home and a special keepsake album.

Blue Skies {Helena, AL Children's Photographer}

I enjoyed getting to photograph this sweet brother and sister duo this Fall!  I was reminded how our last session together we finished our Spring session being pelted with rain and hail, so I know were were all excited to see a nice sunny, Fall afternoon.  Mom always does a good job dressing her children in classic clothing for timeless portraits.  Here are a few favorites from our session together.

Childhood Fun {Trussville, AL Children's Photographer}

I love the childhood playfulness that we captured in this sweet girl's Matilda Jane session.  Her favorite doll made the perfect accompaniment for her session to share tea and a story with.  We created a storyboard wall art design to showcase some of the many favorites from her recent Spring session.

Traditional Children's Portraits {Birmingham, AL Children's Photographer}

I enjoyed getting to meet these children while they were in town visiting their Grandparents.  With their  formal outfits we went with a traditional studio setup to create some nice wall portraits for their home.  I hope they are all getting settled into their new home in Oklahoma.

Back to School Session {Birmingham, AL Children's Photographer}

This was such a fun session!  We took my daughter and her best friend out for a Special Back to School Session in August. My daughter Savannah was starting 1st grade and her friend was starting Kindergarten.  I love watching the excitement in children this age in their anticipation of learning new things.

Portraits on the Walls {Vestavia Hills, Al Children and Family Photographer}

Family portraits are meant to be seem and hung with pride on the walls. I love how Mom pulled together their family's clothing selection for their session.  When consulting with clients on clothing choices for their sessions I often suggest choosing one more colorful item for a child and then pulling coordinating solids from that outfit.  It is also important to consider the colors used in your home and decide if the colors of your clothing will compliment your furniture and wall colors or will it not blend as well.  Of course I am a big fan of the colors, style, and options that Matilda Jane Clothing offers to base a color scheme around.

Mom is working on getting some custom frames built and here is a wall design we worked on to showcase each of the children.   Yes, it is possible to get good quality images of a family and children with a mini session timeframe.

Spring Siblings {Trussville, AL Children's Photographer}

I enjoyed getting to meet these sweet siblings.  They are so close in age and I can not believe how well they get along with each other.  They will enjoy having the support from each other as they grow up.  We found some beautiful blooming gardens to compliment Miss. L's fun floral Matilda Jane outfit.  Mom and I worked together to create some beautiful wall displays for their home with their beautiful images.
 I love working with my clients to create custom artwork for their homes.  Many of my clients will send me photographs of their walls that I can show them to scale how certain sizes will look like on their walls.

Spring Trio {Birmingham, AL Children's Photographer}

These 3 siblings were so easy going and fun to work with.  I know life must be hectic, but so rewarding with twins in Elementary school and a little brother. I love the soft Spring colors Mom picked out for their session.

Secret Garden {Birmingham, AL Children's Photographer}

I loved getting to work with this sweet girl!  She came with a stack of dresses to let me help plan out the perfect outfits for some fun settings.  You are never to old to play "dress up." I think she had fun with it too!  As a child, I always loved the book The Secret Garden.  These first couple of shots remind me of that book so much.
